DANSVILLE — The local dog training facility located at the bottom of the hill on State Rt 36 has expanded and offers more services.
Kaylee Walker Lohrmann, K’s Canine Training Services owner has held several open houses showing off the new facility. The work on construction was done by Lohrnmann with family and friends.
“My father, son, and best friend helped me with the expansions on the building. We have a play area in the daycare. We have six outdoor kennels and hope to add four more by the end of the year. We have a kennel area indoors only for daycare clients. We have a room that can be used due to weather for daycare or training,” she said.
Shelbi Cleveland, Critter Clean Grooming owner said she offers her services at the facility for the clients.
“We have been working together for about a year,” she said. “This is such an important part of the dogs health that we wanted to make it affordable for everyone. We like to help out by keeping the dogs healthy and clean.”
Paul Walker, Lohrmann’s father has been a strong supporter and helped with the expansion. She praised her father for his love and support of her business.
“This is a dream come true for me. I put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into making this come true. My favorite part about this expansion is that I did it all with the help of family and friends. I want to thank them and all of my clients. We wouldn’t be here without them,” Lohrmann said.
Lohrmann calls her clients family since they have been really great about supporting her over the years.
“I let all of my clients know that I am here for them. I want them to know they can count on me for anything. They are all part of my family. I am very thankful to all of them, my father, my best friend, and my son for helping me build my dreams,” she said.
Lohrmann said she has still been a big part of the dog therapy in the schools. Dansville Central has four therapy dogs and hopes for more. She also works with Savona, Letchworth, and Canisteo-Greenwood. The dog therapy program in schools has really caught in recent years.
Lohrmann said the trainers are CPR and first aid qualified to work with the dogs in an emergency situation.
