WAYLAND — Malone Home Builders has been making dreams come true for nearly three decades.
Becky and Tom Malone have expanded the family business to Wayland. A Malone Home Builders Model Home is positioned next to Steuben Landscaping and Floral Center on Rt. 415.
A grand opening of “The Laurel” model will be held on July 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m at 64476 State Rt. 415 in Wayland. The couple will hold private tours on July 22 for those who wish to see the model home from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A celebration of this expansion includes hot dogs, chips, drinks and cookies. There will be prizes that include a smokeless fire pit, Lowes Gift Card ($200), and a wildlife painting from Dutch Hill Homestead. Several professionals will be available to talk to you about your new home project: a banking representative, realtor, and excavator.
Tom Malone said this model will be kept for a couple of years as a showcase of what is available. They can switch out the home any time. If anyone wishes to purchase this exact model the couple can order it for them.
The show home has all of the latest luxuries. The materials, furniture, and décor is purchased locally. The models themselves come from a company in Pennsylvania. The couple has been working with them for nearly a decade.
Becky Malone said the model was built in a couple of months. She is looking forward to working alongside Steuben Landscape and Floral Center. They have been family friends for a long time. The local landscaping company provided the land the model home sits on.
The Malones can custom design your home into the dream house you always wanted. There are hundreds of designs to choose from.
Tom Malone worked on construction in college and has enjoyed continuing in that field over the decades. Becky joined him full-time in the early 2000s. The first home the couple was asked to design, and build was at Loon Lake in the early 90s.
“We wanted to stay in the community. We have raised our kids in this community. We hope to get the community involved. We have already built a few homes in this area,” Becky Malone said. “This has always been our home base. We are great friends with Steuben Landscaping. They have given us a great opportunity to have this space.”
If you wish to have an add on to an existing home Malone Home Builders can help with that. They also work on porches, decks, garages, sheds, and shops.
The couple have local businesses working with them on the materials and labor to make this a community effort.
The summer and fall months are the busiest times for this family business. Anyone who has purchased land within an hour from the business location can request their services. The couple started out in Cohocton. They have developed lasting friendships over the years. They are very proud of what they have accomplished.
The Malones had a hard time during the Covid Pandemic with the shutdown and materials, but have been busier than ever in the last year. The lumber prices went to an all time high, but are now starting to lessen up.
